Hi all! January is the month in which I (Cristina) resolve to get my home organized, and there’s always one area that is particularly susceptible to paper and clutter – my desk! The space that should that should be my most inspiring, creative, and productive is often the messiest, and I think it’s time to remedy that. I’m inspired by this black and white desk area and I believe my blog posts would be all the more beautiful if written from here, don’t you think? Keep reading to recreate this monochromatic office space in your home…
I love to spread out when I work, so I chose a dining table with plenty of room and an extra chair for company. Symmetry is a classic design aesthetic that gives a space order, making this a perfect look for a home office. The two chairs and pair of table lamps achieve symmetry, while the variety of frames and mix of photographs and drawings create visual interest. To maintain a sense of order choose your artwork in one color palette, like black and white (or your favorite color). I had so much fun picking out these prints and illustrations from Etsy and the inspirational text, like the “You Are Amazing” print, is perfect motivation for an office space!

Great look! I think you have to keep a clean look when you have so many different pictures. Another lovely post by Cristina!!

Love those chairs! Too bad I don’t love the price tag…
Beautiful picks!
Great post! Love your picks for the office decor, it’s a nice balance between masculine & feminine!

Gorgeous office space Cristina!
Great post, really like the idea of using a dining table to give yourself the space to spread out. Thinking i should try this instead of trying to find a larger desk!
This is so chic. A gallery wall seems like such a sophisticated way to create an inspiration board.
Agreed – such a pleasing, serene way to display images that inspire every day!
I love this workspace. I would be more productive sitting at the featured desk than my current work station!
I just got home from ALT and decided I needed a more inspiring, uncluttered work space. I have a great version of this in my head and am so excited to get started on those frames! Great weekend project!
This is so clean. Perfect for a work space. I can’t stand work spaces with too much color, I get so overwhelmed and/or sidetracked. Hope The Cream was a success
Man, I would love a chic little workspace! Someday!

We just moved and our home office is SO messy. Part of the issue is storage, but another part is that it has no identify, no look to rally around. Great pics and great inspiration.
Functional and chic. Great solution for a workspace!
ummmm I DIE! this is gorgeous!! xxo em
Love these ideas for creating an inviting workspace! I’m in desperate need of a place where I can be more inspired to write!
Love the color scheme and have loved these chairs for some time now. Love this idea!
love the use of those narrow shelves and framing all of the art. definitely kicks things up a notch!
Just wondering–how did you do the shelves that hold up the pictures on the wall? Thanks, and great blog!
Hi Deb, I’ve used Ikea’s Ribba Picture Ledge in my own home to get this look!
Great space. What is the source for the original inspiration photo?
Hi Jennifer, the original inspiration photo is the home of designer Malene Birger, and the source was SkonaHem.com
Thanks so much! Trying to “link with love.”
